As a boy, Frank Gehry accompanied his grandmother to purchase live carp which she took home and placed in the bathtub until time to make gefeltafish, allowing him time to observe the sinuous double curves and silvery scales as the fish swam in circles. Computer aided design enabled the architect to achieve the sinuous double curves of this structure and a sudden drop in the price of titanium tiles allowed the museum to afford the shimmering “scales”. Paper size: 14in. x 14in. This is the 9in. x 9in. version of this print. An 18in. x 18in. version is available, as well as the entire suite. This is a Giclee print on archival hot press rag.
