CARIBBEAN QUARTET

St. Maarten and Saba seen from Anguilla in the West Indies. This is where Spencer and I spent some of our 3 month sabbatical in the winter of 1987. It took me a while to adjust to the turquoise water shading up to indigo and purpling over the beds of anemones. Each day I swam in the pools either side of that spit of land and I drew something new on the island. When we returned I chose this subject to enlarge into woodblock prints as it summed up everything I loved best about the island.
