On a visit to New York several years ago I drew from our hotel windows where I could see across to New Jersey and down into the park. I love the predictability and the variety of a high rise grid pattern created over time. Of course it is the remarkable park which adds the contrast which makes it art. Seems like we got this one right, we American city makers.
It took so long to cut the 11 blocks, and the printing is so arduous even with both Sonja and me in the press room that I decided to make the edition small.
